September 2008 - Silent Knight Introduces Advanced Intelligent Analog-Addressable Fire Alarm Control Panel

New IFP-2000 designed for superior flexibility and reliability

MAPLE GROVE, MN Silent Knight, part of Honeywell's (NYSE: HON) Life Safety Group, and a provider of industry-wide compatible fire alarm solutions for small to mid-sized institutions and commercial sites, announces its new IFP-2000 Scalable Intelligent Analog-Addressable Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP). Equipped with addressable archecture such as individual point identification, drift compensation and maintenance alert, the IFP-2000 enhances reliability, locates problem areas and reduces costly false alarms.

The IFP-2000 is 9th Edition UL Listed and FM approved, and is the most advanced solution ever offered by Silent Knight. The system has the interconnection capability for up to 8 panels, and the networked system can either be configured to emulate one large virtual system or segmented into separate sites for multiple building applications. 9.0A of output power is available through all 8 on-board Flexput circuits that can be configured for auxiliary power, notification outputs or conventional smoke detector iputs (Class A or Class B).

The IFP Series product line now supports synchronization of System Sensor A/V appliances. The upgraded products now conform to the new UL standards, as well as offering enhanced features and benefits. A USB port has been added to increase compatibility with laptop computers. All products in the line now upload and download five times faster due to data compression software upgrades, and the IFP-1000 has an increased power supply of six amps.

The IFP series ensures that the end user requirements can be met with the most appropriate and economical fire alarm solution, regardless of application or facility size. July 2006 - Silent Knight Makes Custom Fire Alarm Solutions Easy

MAPLE GROVE, MN Silent Knight, a Honeywell company and provider of industry-wide compatible fire alarm solutions for small to mid-sized institutions and commercial sites, introduces its Upgraded KnightSpec Specification Writing Tool. This upgraded, version 1.01, software package allows system engineers and specifiers to create custom fire alarm specifications for Silent Knight panels including the IFP-50, IFP-100, and IFP-1000 control panels, as well as the integrated voice evacuation versions of the IFP-100 and IFP-1000 control panels. The new 1.01 version allows selection of System Sensor’s IDP Series addressable devices and includes updated A/V data sheets and IDP series data sheets.

The easy-to-use interface allows users to select from a wide variety of panel options and equipment in an easy “point and click” manner, reducing the time required to create a final specification. Compiled specifications are saved as .doc files which allow editing in Microsoft® Office® applications or insertion into larger specifications. Once a specification is complete, the user can print applicable data sheets to accompany the specification for submission.

MAPLE GROVE, MN Silent Knight, a Honeywell company and provider of industry-wide compatible fire alarm solutions for small to mid-sized institutions and commercial sites, announces the completion of the Underwriters Laboratories® listing process for the IFP-NetUL Fire System Manager. The IFP-NetUL is a PC-based system that works with Silent Knight’s intelligent analog/addressable fire control panels, the IFP-1000, IFP-100, and the IFP-50. The IFP-NetUL also features upgraded control capabilities that allow the IFP-NetUL to provide reset, and silence functions for IFP-1000, IFP-100, and IFP-50 fire control panels when installed in an Underwriters Laboratories compliant installation.

The IFP-NetUL has a graphical display interface that allows users to auto-navigate and locate the device related to an alarm or event based on the priority of the event. Floor plans can be easily viewed in different degrees of detail by using a built-in zoom feature. Easy-to-use pull-down menus and proximity displays are available for device-specific information and functions. A built-in history manager records operator, event and response with a time and date stamp for efficient record keeping.

The IFP-NetUL supports up to 16 nodes . The IFP -NetUL can be used to identify hazardous materials (HAZMAT) and areas, as well as handicap special needs using information labels with fully linked multimedia. All components of the IFP-NetUL can be easily backed up and stored in a history database.

April 2006 - Silent Knight Products Installed in Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Project

IRVINGTON, NJ In October 2005, Beverly Turner and her nine adopted children with special needs lost their home to a severe fire. Now, they have a new home, thanks to the extremely popular and charitable TV program, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. The Turner family can be assured that history will never repeat, thanks to a partnership between Silent Knight, a leading provider of fire alarm solutions, and Home Control Systems of Bayville, NJ.

Since the family’s displacement, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition received approximately 10,000 nominations suggesting the Turner family as ideal candidates for the show. Now the family’s prayers have been answered with a new three-floor home featuring many exciting amenities, including a sophisticated Silent Knight fire alarm system.

“It is safe to say that this home will never be lost to fire again, due to the extensive and sophisticated fire alarm system provided by Silent Knight,” said John Thormann, co-owner with his wife Brenda of Home Control Systems, the distributor that installed the system. Thormann and his volunteer crew of workers installed a Silent Knight 5208 with expansion zones and a 4-zone relay board.
