Course Overview

Silent Knight Training

Silent Knight is proud to present Knight School, a comprehensive approach to learning about the fire industry and Silent Knight products.  Knight School is divided into two separate offerings:  Fire Drill, and Tech Ed. 

 

Fire Drill:
Come spend a day with us in this FREE classroom seminar as our training professionals cover various topics including:  Basic Fire, Silent Knight fire alarm systems, and our brand new 5600 addressable fire alarm control panel.  All attendees will receive continuing education credits (CEUs) for participating in this session. 

 

Tech Ed:
This comprehensive course is designed for technicians who work on Silent Knight systems.  This two-day course will introduce technicians to system installation, SLC modules, communication technology, programming, and troubleshooting.  Hands-on exercises will solidify the learning experience.  All attendees will receive continuing education credits (CEUs) for participating in this session.  Fee for this two-day session is only $200 per attendee and includes lunches and programming software. 

 

Knight School Course Outline
 
Day 1 – Fire Drill
Audience:

Technicians, Sales people and business owners new to the fire industry

 

Topics / Activities:
An introduction to the Fire industry and Silent Knight including:

  • Introduction to Basic Fire Alarm Technology
  • SK Product overview
  • 5600 product training
Participants will receive CEU credits for Basic Fire

Upon completing, participants will receive proof of attendance.

Day 2 & 3 – Tech Ed
Audience:

Technicians who need more technical product specific training

 

Topics / Activities:
An in-depth overview of the IntelliKnight™ series of panels including:

  • Panel features and benefits
  • Installation
  • Power Supplies
  • SLC hardware
  • Dialers and New communication technology (IP)
  • Keypad programming & mapping
  • Programming panels using the SKSS software
  • Hands-on programming examples
Participants will receive CEU credits 
  • NBFAA Course #08-2614  1.6 CEUs
  • Washington Course #WA 2007-234  16 hours
  • New Jersey Code TECFA  15 hours
  • Florida EC 0800199 16 hours FASAeb 0800197 16 hours

Upon finishing, participants will receive proof of course completion.

Farenhyt PHD (ESD Only)

Silent Knight is proud to present Farenhyt Practical Higher Degree (PHD), comprehensive approach to learning about the fire industry and Silent Knight products. Fire alarm system professionals who complete the Farenhyt PHD program will receive factory certification from Silent Knight. The Farenhyt PHD program is a combination of online and classroom, hand-on learning; both need to be completed in order to receive factory certification

Online Prerequisite:
Students in the Farenhyt PHD program must complete both the IFP-1000 and IFP-2000 online course in order to attend the classroom session. These interactive courses contain seven modules each and a test to assure learning comprehension.

 

Classroom Session:
This three-day hands-on session will provide attendees with an opportunity to apply what they have learned. Students will have an opportunity to practice software programming, networking, voice system installation, troubleshooting, and new communication technology configuration. Students must show mastery in the hands-on applications and pass a final written exam in order to receive factory certification. The fee for this program is $500 per student and includes lunches, training material binder and programming software.
